Technical Data
Danfoss OMT Series Disc Valve Motor
The OMT uses a fixed-displacement orbital (Geroler) design with a disc distributor valve driven synchronously through a cardan shaft, so each chamber fills and empties precisely for smooth, efficient operation across the speed range. For a given size, oil flow sets the speed and pressure differential sets the torque — giving you predictable, controllable performance that's straightforward to design into a system.
Built for the conditions our customers actually work in, the OMT is available with check valves and an optional drain connection, plus integrated braking versions (OMT FX, OMT FL and OMT FH) where you need controlled holding torque. Smaller displacements run faster at lower torque; larger displacements deliver maximum torque at reduced speed. Our team can help you match the right size to your duty cycle.
Configuration options
The OMT is available in a wide range of build options to suit your mounting and drive requirements:
- Mounting flanges: standard, wheel, brake-wheel, brake-standard and short
- Shaft types: cylindrical (40 mm), splined (1.5 in), tapered (45 mm / 1.75 in), P.t.o. and bearingless short (OMTS)
- Port sizes: G 3/4 (European) or 1 1/16-12 UN (US)
- Wheel-mount (OMTW) and short / bearingless (OMTS) variants for integration into gearboxes and wheel hubs
- Brake versions (OMT FX / FL / FH) with integrated holding brake
Optional extras include speed sensor, tacho connection, Viton shaft seal, ultra-short build and painted finish.
Typical applications
The OMT is a popular choice across the sectors FPD supplies, including:
- Construction equipment
- Agricultural machinery
- Forestry equipment
- Materials handling and lifting
- Machine tools and stationary equipment
- Marine equipment
Talk to FPD about the right OMT for your machine. Selecting an orbital motor comes down to matching displacement, flow, pressure and mounting to your application — and that's where our technical knowledge earns its keep. Tell us your duty cycle and we'll help you specify the correct OMT configuration and code number, then get it to you from local stock.
